  • Connecting Camera to a PC to transfer files

Posted by Chris Jones on June 20, 2012 at 9:59 pm

I’ve backed up my CONTENTS files to my Mac. I would like to back up to my PC also before I delete all the clips from the P2 Cards.

I’ve been looking in the manual and I have downloaded a driver from the Panasonic website but the Camera and the PC are not talking to each other.

Does anyone know off had which driver/s I need to download to connect to a PC? I can read the descriptions, but I really don’t know which software I need. I only want to transfer the content files.

I have the HPX-170, and my PC uses Vista although I have Win7 also.

    Thank you

    go here:

    https://eww.pass.panasonic.co.jp/pro-av/support/desk/e/download.htm

    Click on P2
    Scroll down:
P2 Contents Management Software for Windows users
select the “WIN” driver for download.

That is where I got the download that I tried.

But during the setup it asked me to connect the camera because it needed to do something to my camera. I didn’t want to do that because I didn’t want to risk it doing a firmware update on losing the clips.

I installed this one originally to my PC

    (Win) P2 Driver software

But after installing it I was not able to connect to the camera.
