Connect USB on a mac
Posted by John Schaub on January 22, 2009 at 4:19 amI was thinking about getting a new Macbook. While I am pissed apple is not including FW I am hopeful that I can still connect the HVX200a to the laptop via USB. Possible? How?
Thanks!!

January 22, 2009 at 5:21 amYes, you can download cards. You won’t be able to playout or preview footage via USB, which is why I asked. In USB mode, you can also write back to P2 cards if you need it.
You can also get yourself a MacBook Pro and gain a fw port. The MacBook Pro will be better suited for editing.

January 22, 2009 at 11:10 pmYeah a MacBook is really underpowered and understaffed in the ports department. I’d get the MacBook Pro. Otherwise you’ll seeing why USB is so sllooooow on the Mac.
