Sorry for the newbie question but we got to start somewhere.
I seem to be having problems when exporting my finished projects? I am exporting quicktime or AVI. Can i export to dvd in after effects?
Do i make my movie in video editing program then import to to After Effects to add the effects or do i just put the media in to after effects and work from here? I dont know how to export to dvd in AE if you can? so i import the AE project in to Premier pro so that i can export to dvd but i loose quality and the video seems to bounce a little.
What is the best way of starting a project? by that i mean if there are going to be effects should i go stright to after effects or do i make the movie in premier pro then import it?
I hope this makes sense.

I would normally edit in Premiere (I use Avid, but am letting you know of my workflow), then I ship the color-corrected picture lock over to AE for some fun….Next I would render out the cleanest file that I could (Uncompressed QT or Animation Codec QT), next I would bring that file into either an authoring programme that has encoding (Encore), or something like Squeeze from Sorenson to create the MPG2 file. Along this whole workflow I would try and stay in the same realm as my original footage…If working with DV footage, then i would export the footage as DV and probably render out in DV….with HD material I would rtanscode to one of Avid’s DNX codecs before exporting from Avid.
Now, if you have Premiere Pro and After effects, I would strongly suggest upgrading to the Creative Suite…..this would allow you to move assets between Premiere-Soundbooth-After effects and finally Encore without the need to render.

I just been looking at the upgrade looks pretty sweet. Once i have nade my movie in premier and move the project file over to AE. Is there no way that i can export to dvd from here? Is there any other way i can put this to dvd other than encore, i dont have them just yet. I was trying to put the rendered version back in to premier but the quality is bad. Until i upgrade i cant use dynamic link? What is the best format to render to put back in to premier. I use targa sequence? When these are exported each frame last for about 3/4 secs. Can i make this smaller or do i manually have to cut them down.
Sorry but im a newbie when it comes to understand whats what, learning as i go along.

What is the origin of your footage ??? Try to match it in the output of AE…Yes you can create MPG2 files in AE…use the Adobe Encoder in the render queue.

I am considering upgrading but would like to know that if i decide to go for CS3 premier/after effects. Has dynamic link been integrated with the cs3 versions or will i have to buy creative suite separately.
Not sure how it works? I dont know if it is intergrated with cs3? or will i still have to get the upgrade even if i get cs3 verssions?
