confused through too much information!
I’m looking at getting an FCP edit suite and searching around through various sites and searching posts has left me a tad confused about a few things that i hope can be answered here.
1: My cameraman has a JVC hdv camera that we have only been using in DV but we are both itchy to try some hdv work. We want to upconvert our footage to 1080i via a JVC br hd 50 deck as we are only doing corporate DVD’s and don’t necessarily need the film look. Should I be looking at Decklink or Kona to achieve this?
2: Can I get a monitor preview at the same time?
3: What might I be able to do in FCP if I want to use SD material in an HDV project?
4: Would a RAID be recommended in an HDV set up? I also have to keep SD in mind which from reading some posts would be useful to do in 8/10 bit uncompressed if using graphics etc.
5: There seem to be quite a few training dvd’s/courses out there can anyone recommend some of the better ones?
6: Is it worth waiting for the Intel based Power Macs to come out… will they really increase speed by alot? (i’m dying to get into FCP and HDV!!!)
Why does my name come up red- I hate that!
Thanks for any info u may be able to supply!
