Confused about scratchdisk assignment
Learned Gentlemen,
I am a very happy user of CS4.I have set up my computer with the following drive assignments;
C – operating system and programs
R – Raid – Folder for each project that includes:
project file, folder for scratch disk assignment for for this project.
Q – 2 gig fiber network drive – Folder for this project that contains all assetsMy questions are;
1 Is this a reasonable set up?
2 When I am done with a project and clearing from my computer,
when I delete the Named project folder from R, have I deleted everything related to this project,
including all preview and render files, pek and cfa files? Or are there bits and pieces left over in other locations that
will build up over time?
Any thoughts would be appreciated.Kevin Ryan

You can set scratch disks up however you want.
2 philosophies are:
1) Common location for all projects: this allows you to purge that entire folder quickly to regain disk space, but the down side is that you blow away renders for projects you may not want to and have to re-render them again.
2) Same as Project – this will create your render folders/files local to each project file so it assumes that your project file should be stored on something fast enough to play media and have capacity enough to store a fair amount of it. But this also means that you can blow away only the renders for a particular project without disturbing others more easily.
