Dear Vincent and Mike,
Thanks to you both for the helpful info! In any event, I can help to feel a bit confused at the moment by the various aspect ratios you mentioned in your posts: initially 640 x 480, then 1200 x 900 and lastly 720 x 480. Whereas the Premiere Pro preset for uncompressed NTSC indicates 720 x 486? Is there one I should choose over the rest for optimal results? Thank you for your feedback. Regards, Pete

It depends on your output. If you are using the NTSC standard, then select the 720*486 preset.Aanarav Sareen

These different formats have to do with the fact that you are transferring images from a computer format to a TV format.
Square pixels in a computer, rectangular pixels in a TV format. 720×480 is particular to the “DV” format. 720×486 is standard NTSC format. Confused yet (or still ;)?
I recommended the 1280×960 for the original resolution of your images as an example for zooming in 200% in your pictures so that you wouldn’t lose quality in zooms. If you wanted to zoom in 300%, then I would recommend 1920×1440 (640×480 x 3) for the original pictures, etc.
Again, I am using the 640×480, because we are taking computer pixel aspect ration.
