Conforming/syncing multichannel audio to audio on timeline
I have a 10′ film as an Avid MC (v.8) project.
I need to export multichannel audio as an AAF for the sound mix.
I have the project with final sequence and the audio rushes in 5 channel ISO file format.
I have a new bin containing a duplicate of the final sequence. I’ve imported all audio into
the same bin and after relinking the media, audio is online. The sequence has only 1 audio channel. I need to conform the multichannel
audio to the audio on the timeline.
If I match frame a clip on the timeline, then ‘find in bin’ I can
see the master clip has 5 channels. On timeline I make 5 new audio channels, create I/O etc and overwrite onto
new channels. On the new channels I have the recordings I need with a bit of nudging and re-syncing
required. Can anyone suggest a quicker way of doing this ie syncing 5 channel audio to the clips on the timeline?
Is there an automated process to do this or do I have to cut in the 5 channel audio manually? Thanks
