    Hi folks

We’ve shot a film on a Canon 600d and transcoded the footage to DVCPro HD.

Can you conform a project the same as if you were overwriting proxys with online from Tape? We want to have the final project ProRes 422 10bit, but it’s sluggish to work with compared to DVCPro HD on our system.

Well, the offline/online process for tapeless works if you are careful and do things right. FCP relies on file name, reel number and timecode in order to relink footage. So the best way is to use Log and Transfer to do the initial ingest. If you don’t, then the timecode for each clip will start at 00:00:00:00, and they will lack reel numbers.

How did you convert the footage initially?

    Ah.

That’ll be an issue then, as I pulled the files from the SD card to my HD then transcoded with compressor.

Yeah…that’s not the way to do things if you intend to offline/online with tapeless.

    Sorry.
