Don’t do that. 1280×720 is fine.
What codec? How are you monitoring your footage?

Have tried different codecs – main one was techsmith’s codec.

And you just brought this in to FCp without transcoding first?

On what monitor are you watching the footage?

Watching the footage on both the Mac I’m cutting on & the PC.
Again, the biggest issue is after final encode that it looks terrible. I will try your suggestion, though.

I did it both ways – any recommendation on how to export & transcode form Camtasia? I was using the QT mov export.

To the techsmith codec? Try something better like Animation or PhotoJPEG. You can then take that to COmpressor to transcode to ProRes or DVCPro HD.
