I just need to confirm the best DV to DVD workflow for a project that will utilize Motion effects and graphics.
I have shot the project in widescreen DV 720 x 480.
I think I need to capture in Apple ProRes 422 HQ ntsc 48khz, there are so many ProRes versions I am getting confused.
I need a robust format so my effects and graphics hold up.
I would edit in 422 HQ then output via compressor to Mpeg2 best quality.
I have the latest version of FCP and a 2009 Mac so I don’t care about the time it takes to render, I just want the best quality.
I realize that DV is not great nor is DVD but I just want the best workflow for this situation.
I have already captured in the native DV widescreen format, should I recapture in ProRes or should I convert my existing DV files to ProRes.
This is for my son’s football team year ender, I have been shooting and cutting the games in DV to DVD with excellent results but I have not added graphics or anything fancy.
I appreciate your help on this as I do not want to discover I should have captured to another format near the end of the project.
