Confetti Effect
Posted by Antoine Guy on September 1, 2012 at 4:19 pmDoes anybody know how I can make (Or where I can get) a confetti effect for the intro to a wedding video I am making? I want to be able to use it in conjunction with some photos to make an animated menu for the DVD. Any help appreciated.

Confetti can be easily created with a particle effect. Boris Continuum Complete for Vegas has BCC Particle Emitter 3D which has a preset called Fluffy Snowfall. If start with this and change the Particle Shape to Cards 3D and Color Mode to Gradient Random you’ll have pretty convincing confetti. You can also purchase it as a Continuum Unit. You might want to download the trial and see if this is what you want.

(Good GPU/OpenGL etc), the BCC Particle Emitter 3D
wont function well.Steve Rhoden

That is a good point to make. BCC does require that you have a graphics card that supports OpenGL. Most graphics cards do but a PC or laptop with Intel Graphics might not. That’s why I always recommend that people download the trial software.
