We have a recurring issue with After Effects at our shop. Every so often, the compter will “lock up” for a fairly long time, turn the windows white, and then unfreeze as if it was just thinking about some process. I understand that sometimes there are some really intense things that it might have to process, but this seems to happen primarily when I am just trying to move back and forth through the timeline, usually where there are no real intense filters or large files being accessed. When I look at the CPU performance it is maxed out at 100%, and the program is using about a 1 gig of my 2 gigs of Ram. Any insight as to how to remedy this would be appreciated. We are using a top of the line 64-bit computer with plenty of memory, hard drive space, speed, and a substantial video card. We upgraded the computer a while back, thinking that perhaps the computer was just not capable enough. It is really slowing down our workflow, so any advice would be well taken.

    Thank you!
