Computer digital image rendered to D1 NTSC 720 x 486 squish
I have read Dr Strange Pixel 3 times now, that’s plenty.
Is it a given that when you take computer generated images such as a digital photos to television, they are going to be squished. Have a stretched look.
So you take a NTSC D1 square pixel 720 x 540 digital photo animated in an After Effects composition ,then Render (Que) it as NTSC D1 720 x 486 noncompressed .AVI file and import it into Premier Pro 1.5. Edit clips together in Premier and save as an Mpeg-2 to author as a DVD in Encore. Your finished DVD playing on you television will have the photographs looking slightly stretched. And that’s the way it is, carved in stone?
No solutions where the photo quality will be compromised, please. Thanks
If possible a simple answer would be appreciated.

No, the whole point of converting is to STOP things looking squished. If you are correctly interpreting square pixel material in AE, then rendering with AE Preset NTSC settings, and maintaining those settings throughout the editing and authoring processes, your images will not look squished.
