Computer crashes using A.E. 6.5.1, Martox Parhelia and Blackmagic Decklink
Hello,
I am working on Microsoft Windows XP Professional Version 2002, Service pack 2.
Intel (R) Xeon (TM) CPU 2.81 GHz, 3.25 GB of RamI have a Matrox Parhelia 128 MB for a video card, and Blackmagic Decklink Display version 1.2.0.0
Basically what has been happening here is everytime I Ram Preview, or even just scrub through the timeline in After Effects Professional 6.5.1, my whole computer shuts down on me.
Sometimes when this happened my After Effects file would get corrupted, and wouldn’t allow me to open it.
To figure out what this problem could be, we took the Blackmagic Decklink totally out of the computer and ever since we did that, After Effects has been running fine. No more computer crashing. My question is, has anyone experienced problems using these two products together (Blackmagic Decklink and Matrox Parhelia)?
Does Blackmagic Decklink have some issues with the Matrox Parhelia video card that I am using? Does anyone think something got corrupt with the decklink? These problems started only a few months after we installed the decklink.Anyway, any help with this would be greatly appreciated. I need my decklink back in the computer. But can’t have it crashing on me all the time.
Thanks again
Jaime
