compute capable of editing video files
I am on the lookout for a computer powerful enough for editing video files of length 30 minutes or shorter. I want something that will preview videos with a faithful rendition of their true motion. Can someone advise me on a brand and configuration that will do this. I need to know what size CPU, the speed,how much ram I’ll need, and the video card and ram. Could I get all this for around 600 or less(US Dollars)

I’ve recently started using Vegas Movie Studio 9 Platinum, and it runs great (stable and reasonably quick) on my cheapie rig:
