Compressor Won’t Run
Hi all,
I bought a used G5 with FCP 6. Everything works great except Comressor. When I try to open it (either through FCP or on it’s own), I get ‘The application Compressor quit unexpectedly.’ error.
Apple support pages have a trouble shooting work flow which I tried but nothing fixed the issue. I don’t have the original software as I bought the system used so I can’t reload the program.
(I can hear you saying now – ‘that’s what you get buying used’.)
But – is there another way to repair the program? Compressor is only bundled with FCP right?

the problem is not buy used it buying pre-installed software without the original disc. You don’t own the software. Hope you didn’t pay extra for the software that was on the computer.
The only fix I have seen for Compressor issues is to re-install it but as you already know you need the disc for that.

Thanks – I’ll find a work around for now.
I did get a good deal on the system – everything else runs well. Probably going to buy the software and re-install eventually.

It is a good ethical policy to pay for software you use, especially if you are making money from it. Even big companies deserve to get paid for there work.
