April 5, 2008 at 11:28 amChris, I have had the same problem. Compressor would launch but the batch window wouldn’t open so it was useless. Then after multiple (manual) de-installs and re-installs, Compressor crashed on open every time.
I’ve been all over the Creative Cow boards, the Apple boards… I’ve tried a half dozen things dozens of times… been working on this for HOURS. Nothing has worked. Then I came across your post. It was my last ditch effort to get Compressor working again and by God it worked! THANK YOU!

November 4, 2008 at 8:29 pmAfter deleting and re-installing everything as dictated in Apple’s Compressor Troubleshooting Basics, I still got no batch screen until I read and did the following.
In some cases after updating or reinstalling Compressor 3, the Preview window may display a large blank space in the upper area of the window.
Take the following steps to remove the blank space from the Preview window.
1. Choose Window > Layouts > Standard 1280×800.
2. Close Compressor.
3. Open Compressor. After taking these steps, the Compressor Preview window should appear without the blank space.
This is what fixed it for me. Cheers.
