I have a film in which only some of the footage needs deinterlacing.
My project was cut in a 23.97 timeline with dv footage shot at 24pA.
I use some 30fps footage which I converted to 23.97 through cinema tools.
When I output a dvd the converted 30fps stuff is interlaced.

If in compressor I check deinterlacing in the video filter section will it effect the rest of the dv footage that doesn’t need it?

Also can you recommend settings for color in the video filter to make sure the video doesn’t get washed out? I’d like to make sure the blacks get crushed a little more. Will checking noise removal help?

One more thing. I think you can get better quality compression when going directly out of fcp to compressor. It suddenly no longer works for me to do so. I’m forced to export a QT first. Any idea why it fails to compress with fcp open?

    Thanks so much!
