    Hi CC FCP,

I am tryin to use compressor to export TIFF sequences from FCP. When I name my output file it automatically changes it to frame_00001.TIF

this means i have to rename all the files!

    for example:

i call select my destination folder…

    i give my sequence a name…. SHOT1_GS_FG_TAKE01_[####].TIF

it should give me a TIFF sequence SHOT1_GS_FG_TAKE01_0001.TIF

but it creates a new folder SHOT1_GS_FG_TAKE01_

and generates files called Frame_####.tif etc

this doesn’t make sense in professional VFX workflow

any ideas why it does this?

You could easily make a workflow in automator to change the name.

    Can you give an example?

Say I’m batch compressing 30 .MOV’s – I want each one to go into their own folder (which they do – named after the source) but then I need each frame named sourcename.####.jpg rather than frame-######.jpg

    any ideas?

In Automator you run a Finder action to find ‘frame-‘ and replace it with ‘sourcename.’
