Does anyone know if compressor is smart enough to know not to recompress material that doesn’t need to be recompressed?

If I export a timeline of prores mat’l using FCP to QT, with the same as sequence settings, FCP will basically just consolidate the timeline to a single prores QT and only render when necessary. I’m not sure if the same is true with compressor? If I send the same timeline to compressor and apply an identical prores preset to it, would it be smart enough to not recompress it?

    Compressor will always recompress.

Exporting a fully rendered ProRes timeline as a self-contained QT movie will not recompress, but rather consolidate. Don’t use QT conversion.
