    Hello all.

I’ve shot a wedding using 2 Canon 7Ds – 1920 X1080 shot at 30 FPS. I converted the files to Apple Pro Res LT and have completed my edit. My client would like both a DVD and a movie file.

The Ceremony is 30 minutes and I also have a 10 minute highlights reel.

My client has told me he uses VLC Player on a PC, and a standard DVD Player.

I’m fairly inexperienced with different codecs and am looking for suggestions for my Compressor Settings for both the DVD and Movie File. I would like to strike a balance between maintaining quality and not having enormous file sizes. I was thinking about using H264, however am unsure which settings affect quality, file size, and if it should be a MP 4, .Mov etc.

I’m sure I’ve left some necessary information out, but I would greatly appreciate some input on where to begin. Thanks very much

    Compressor has presets.

DVD = m2v and ac3 file. Constant Bit Rate (CBR) 7.0 or DVD Best.

Have your client install the latest QuickTime version on their computer and create a h.264 file for them.
    1500 to 6000kb

Hello Steve, thank you very much for your kind and quick reply. I’ve now got a product that I’m happy with. My first attempt without touching the Bit Rate Settings yielded a 4.5 Gig File that simply didn’t work.

Thanks again for your input and take care.

    Joel.
