Compressor; retracing previous compressor settings – historical logs?
Searched the forum for duplicate post, but couldn’t find one, so apologies if this has been asked before.
The short: Is there a way to determine the video export settings one used in the recent past (5 days) from Compressor, assuming one didn’t save these settings. (Assume the ‘one’ in this is me).
The long:
I’m doing some HD -> SD alchemy and am going thru different permutations of Comp settings.
I came upon a setting I had tinkered with by pulling from various posts and sugs to others problems.
I like the resulting DVD, but it took about 80 hours to render 45mins on my MBP 2,2 2.33 using both cores in cluster w/4GB ram (3 addressable in this MBP flavor); I used a 30 gallon stew pot as a heat sink by turning it upside down and resting the naked bottom of my MPB on it, which drew heat about 1/3 of the way down the pot.
The DVD looks so crisp (text too) that I want to grab some dip and munch on it. Below is a frame exported from the FCP timeline with just ‘Deinterlace – Lower’ filter applied this was before it went to Compressor. The next frame is from the DVD, snapshot out of VLC.
So if I can find a log of what I did I could start toning the settings down to save on time and see where the line is that starts reducing the clarity.
Much thanks,
