    I have 2 questions:

    1) I have been advised to reinstall Compressor because it keeps quitting on me. I am not given the option to choose Compressor on the list of program options on the install disk. Does anyone know how to get passed this or get access to another site where I can download a working program?

    2) Is there any way to compress finished projects and all the media files associated with them to store them for future work? I hate to delete all that real time captured media when I might need to use it later on. Is there anything I can do to help archive the files so that I can work on them again without having to re-capture, besides storing it all on a huge hard drive?

No. 500gb hard drives are $200 or less now. So, spend the dough and save your project. There simply is no excuse anymore for concerns about hard drive buying storage.

    1) You’ll need to either uninstall Compressor (see this article: https://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93234) or use a force-install utility like Pacifist from CharleSoft( https://www.charlessoft.com/).

    2) I highly recommend getting a SATA hot-swap bay (or similar) and just allocating drives permanently to a project, it really is pretty inexpensive and very convenient. Even if you wanted to just use archiving drives, the way to do it is with a hot-swap system rather than FireWire or USB external, much more convenient, expandable and cheaper. I use one from Seritek, reviewed here on Ken Stone’s site: https://www.kenstone.net/fcp_homepage/review_seritek_saraceno.html.
