This is more of a compressor question that has been boggling me for some time. I have a completed one-hour project shot with the VariCam using the DVCPRO HD 720p24codec and am trying to figure out how to print the highest quality HD DVD (not Blu-Ray). Here are my questions:

    1. Should I first upconvert the project to 1080p24 with compressor, then using compressor, convert to the H.264 codec before burning in DVD Studio Pro?

    2. Which track resolution in DVD Studio Pro will give me the highest quality resolution?

Basically, I want know how to get the highest quality HD DVD to send to the Sundance Film Festival from a project shot in 720p24 DVCPRO HD with the VariCam. Any Help would be much, much appreciated!

    THANKS!!!!

You should really post this in the DVDSP forum.

My gut says that you should probably just encode it as 720P and not upconvert it. It won’t look any better. But I haven’t encoded a HD DVD before.

Also, I’m not sure if it will fit on a normal DVD and there aren’t HD DVD burners.

Did I mention that you should post this in the DVDSP forum because I’m talking about things I know very little about.
