    Hullo,

I’ve got a query ref compressor and the time it takes for rendering.

I’ve got a FCP 7 project, in DV format approx 80mins long.

In compressor if I set it to de-interlace, increased the bit-rate from 6.3 to 7.1 (avg) and set it off rendering it takes approx 40 mins to finish.

Now, if I keep the bitrate at 7.1 and change it so it’s progressive (and no de-interlace) it takes approx 14 HOURS to render.

Why does it take so long to render progressive?
Is there any benefit in rendering progressive?

My rig is i5 quad core so certainly no slouch, just want to know if there is any benefits as you can appreciate it is taking along time!
