It drives me nuts that when you use a setting in compressor it then names the output file this very long name that contains the setting name. Is there any way change it so that it doesn’t rename the new file, or if it does you can choose what that name is (like -web). I know you can change the name of a setting by making a custom preset…this is most likely the only way to do this…but if anyone knows another way in some hidden preference or something, it would be much appreciated.

Next to the settings tab, there’s a destination tab which allows you to set a custom destination and that includes a naming scheme.

Then back in the last tab of your setting (called ‘Actions’), you can choose which destination you send it to.

    Make sense?

    [Jeremy Garchow] “Make sense? “

What doesn’t make sense is why is it just there and not in general prefs. I have to say I have hundreds of custom presets and 2 custom destinations.

This is the most useful feature that has been hidden from day one.
