    Hi Everyone,

So I use compressor quite often but recently its started opening without any windows…which isn’t a problem because I can just go to the window tab and get most back…except the main window.

If I try exporting from final cut with compressor, compressor just goes blank. No windows.

I have no idea what is going on. Has anyone had this problem before?

    Thank you!
    Eric

    Try trashing the compressor plist.

    In your user folder:
    ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.compressor.plist

    Hey Jeff,

Thanks for the advice… unfortunately it didn’t fix the problem. I’m really stumped now.

It seems like I can open compressor but I can’t “use” it.

    Thanks,
    Eric

Humor me on this- try firing up compressor with NO NETWORK attached. My hunch is that there’s something wrong with your Qmaster.

So I tried the network bit… well I just unplugged the Ethernet…. but that didn’t do much.

BUT I noticed that compressor isn’t rebuilding the trashed prefs,

AND it seems 2 others on the forum have run into the “no batch window/compressor doesn’t function” problem in the last week but neither has found a fix bc nobody has replied to their posts.

I wonder if this is a leopard problem. Thing is I’ve had leopard for a month and this just happened a few days ago…

    Thanks for the help!

Whoa. You’re running leopard? Which version of the proapps?

Haha I thought I would get that response… the whoa bit that is. I have 2 machines so I felt safe upgrading 1, but apparently it was the wrong move.

Anyway I just checked and oddly I’m running fcp 6.0.2 but only compressor 3.0

I thought compressor was supposed to go to 3.0.2 as of the most recent update…

So I just downloaded the 3.0.2 update but it wouldn’t let me install it. It said I didn’t “need” the update. I find that hard to believe.

Ok so I finally fixed it… I think.

After hours of forum hunting I just sucked it up and did the 3.5 hour erase and install. Which is odd bc it only installed 150mb or something.

Anyway seems erase and install is the only solution…

btw after erasing it let me upgrade to 3.0.2
