Compressor for FCP 6 disappeared; can I retrieve?
Was going to edit a short film and compressor literally vanished from my laptop; it is nowhere to be found. Did search in Applications and it’s no longer. Crazy I know. Anyway is there a way I can redownload this again somewhere, without having to pay for Final Cut Pro X and starting all over (the original discs are gone). Thanks.

Unfortunately no. When Apple changed to FCPX they dropped all support for previous versions. This is why I am no longer an Apple fan.

I’m sure someone on here will still have the discs who could create a dmg for you.
Just double check they’re not all swept up into a folder in your app folder as that’s what happened when the classic apps were sidelined versus fcpx.
I only have studio 2 still on disc but sadly don’t have a disc drive on my current system atm

I’m not sure this helps, but I too had some issues with Compressor after my machine automatically updated the OS. (Apple has ended support for 32 bit apps, which is great, since I paid real money for them.) Anyway, my IT people had me delete the non-functional version of Compressor off my machine, and go to the Apple App Store to download it again. It told me there was a newer version, but offered me the option to go backward and download the last version that was compatible with my system. That worked, and it didn’t charge me any money, so I was back in business. I hope you have similar success.
