This one’s odd. I have an h264 that I’d like to compress. Normally this is not an issue but for some reason, these movies always fail immediately in compressor. The error I receive is “codec not installed.”
Yet it is. It’s a quicktime codec, h264, created from a Nuke. I can easily open and play in QT player, and using QT 7 (I prefer it over 10) I can create my new compression.
Any idea why this is the case for Apple Compressor? The movie is created from a PC and we’re working on a Mac, but that’s not new for us here. It’s not a permissions issue, not a license issue, it seems simply to be a mysterious codec issue?
    Any ideas?
