Compressor “Failed”
I recently made a bad decision. I upgraded my Operating System software in the middle of a project. Don’t know why I didn’t listen to my inner voice which was screaming, “NO! Don’t do it!”
My OS is currently Snow Leopard 10.6.3, and since upgrading I am unable to successfully compress videos in Compressor. My sequences export to Compressor just fine, it’s when Compressor actually compresses .m2v’s, that I run into problems. I keep getting a “Failed” message. I have a sequence settings of DVCProHD 1280×720.
Before upgrading to 10.6.3, I successfully exported and compressed videos as recent as last Friday. Since the recent OS upgrade, I have been unable to. I expect something in the update to the QT settings had something to do with this new problem.
Does anyone know of a fix, that will help me get through this roadblock in Compressor? Are there settings I can reset, or files I can trash that will help set things right? I have scoured postings on this subject, and it appears there is no answer out there, other than erasing then reinstalling Compressor.
Lastly, if there is no real solution, can someone tell me how to revert to 10.6.2 with relative ease and least amount of damage to computer setup? I have Time Machine. I am running Final Cut Pro 6 on a MacPro. Thanks for your help.
