  • Compressor Dimension problems at 25% of source

    Hi,

I’ve run into a problem with dimension settings in Compressor 3.5 and I haven’t been able to figure out where the problem lies. I am trying to compress a 1440 x 1080 self-contained QT file (MPEG-2 created from an HDV sequence in FCP) to an mp4 at 480 x 270. I usually do this by setting the dimension size in Compressor to 25% of source. This time, though, I changed the dimension to 25% of source, and I kept getting a size of 360 x 270. Is there a setting in Compressor that needs to be changed to get the dimension size settings to work correctly?

    Thanks,
    Matt

The math compressor is doing is correct, 25% of 1440×1080 is 360×270.

If you would like the outputted size to be 480×270, change the frame size in the Dimensions section to Custom (not 25%), then enter in 480×270.
