My apologies for not putting in all my details. MAC OS10.4.11, 6.5 GB RAM, FCP6.0.6, AJA Kona LHe.
Exported a 29.97 1080i 8bit uncompressed as current. Then dropped into Compressor 3.0.5 using a h.264 set to a 30000k/bit/s max, Target drive was set to a SATAmax 3TB external
