    Compressor crashes

    I am working in FCP 6.0.5. My Compressor 3.0.5 has failed 3 times while attempting to compress a 2.5 minute HD 1080 24pn sequence that I have previously compressed several times without a problem. I’m using H.264 to compress down to 480 X 270 for the web and got this message: “Fail-3X crash service down”.
    I have re-started, trashed the Compressor preferences to no avail. I attempted to do a custom install of Compressor from the disc but the individual categories were grayed out and did not permit me to do this.

    What could be wrong? Until now, I’ve had no problems with the application.

    do you have spare hard drive space for compressor to work with? is it a powerbook? if so mine did that so much I got a new MBP.
