    Hi,

I know this is FCP forum but I don’t see a compressor one so hopefully it’s ok here.

My compressor (3.03) is now crashing every time on startup (after splash screen). Now I’ve researched this and found numerous complicated uninstall procedures (including a whole OS re-installation), so it’s a known problem.

The only thing is with mine if I switch another user it works just fine, so maybe it’s a preference thing. However when I delete the preferences that I find ( 2 files can’t remember names) it’s still doesn’t work…

Is there a quick way to fix this?

    Thanks,

    Johnny

Try repairing Permissions and if you can run DisWarrior, TechTools or similar application.

Last Fall this happened to me, I had to do a complete OS re-install. Sorry, hope you don’t have to.

    Have a wonderful day.

Might have been mentioned but here is what I did… Navigate to:

    users
    user name
    library
    preferences
    com.apple.compressor.Compressor.plist (throw out)

Then rebuild permissions, then restart your mac.

    Good luck!
