I have encounterd a new problem.

I have used compressor daily for months, but this just started yesterday.

when rendering out wmv (SD)(regardless of bitrate)each file normally takes 4 hours.
just before it is complete, copmpressor revaluates the situation and tells me it is now going to be 70hrs. It does trickle down in time, but after many hours. I have let it go overnight just to see and 15 hours later it still had 4 to go.

It’s not always 70, but always a LARGE number.

I have done equal value encodes hundreds of times and I know how long they take.
I have trashed pref etc. keeps doing it.
AND only after it has just about finished. (3-3 1/2 hrs in)
short encodes it does. (few minutes) nopt sure where that cut off is.
to bad my projects are all and hour.

anyone have any ideas before I reinstall this baby!

Could be a problem with the source you are currently working with

no I have tried many different sources.

I did download a “compressor repair” late last night and ran a piece.

    IT COMPLETED!
so I have another running now, fingers crossed.
