    im going nuts.

im trying to use compressor to make mpeg2 files for DVDSP.

No matter which way i do it, through FCP or alone with QT Ref files, after a little bit through in Compressor a kernel panic comes up.

    Was saying Corrupt Skip LIsts.

I went back to 10.3 thinking it could be 10.4 problem. I also zapped PRAM. I also reinstalled COmpressor and FCP.

    NOw Says Corrupt Stacks.

I can export other types of files – mpg4, quicktime movie, etc. No other program has problems. I use AE all the time and output quicktimes.

Seems like it only causes problems when trying to make an mpg2.

I also tried to use FCP to export mpg2 through quicktime conversion option. That cause kernel panic too.

    what is the deal?

Sounds to me like you need to perform a cleaner install… i.e. backup your data, and perform an erase and install of Tiger or later… update it all the way, then reinstall the studio over that nice new OS.

As long as you don’t have a hardware problem, and it doesn’t sound like you do, it will fix you right up! Promise!
