Thanks for the response, but it appears that, although snappy, the Matrox MXO2 and the PCI Card are just for compressing to h264. Unless I missed something in the article, there’s no mention of compression acceleration for mp4, or any other formats.
I guess I’ll contact Matrox tomorrow to get the details.

H.264 is MPEG4 Part 10. Why would there be need for anything else these days?
