December 20, 2013 at 2:49 pmThank you James, that worked! Compressor is actually working now – seemingly normally. Martyn I hope it works for you…

December 20, 2013 at 3:17 pmPerfect, worked for me too.
Thank you.
Just one remaining question, is everyone seeing very low processor use with this new version? I just transcoded a simple h.264 file into the animation codec (chosen totally arbitrarily) at processor usage was only 13%

I know little but I learn quickly!

December 20, 2013 at 3:31 pmCool Martyn!
I’m not sure regarding CPU usage. I’m currently encoding a proRes into an h264 mp4 on a 5 computer cluster, and my CPU usage on my main machine (the one I’m typing on) is at 270.5% (I think out of a possible 400%, 4 cores?)
However, some of my transcodes did fail unfortunately.
Any ideas on this?

December 20, 2013 at 3:38 pmAlthough I’d like to also mention that I’m not sure my cluster is working correctly. All of my computers say “Idle” in the “Shared Computers” preference section (with my cluster selected on the left) – so I’m not sure what that means. I know the current computer I’m on is transcoding (because I see the progress bar), and that machine is also listed as Idle, so maybe they are all working?
