    Hi, all

One week after FCPX, bought it, and I’ve decided to stay at 7.

However, I didn’t buy Compressor 4 yet, same is true for Motion.
I’d like to know what are the pros and cons when I seriously want to keep using FCP7 alone, to install these 2 new components.

Does Compressor 4 work with FCP7? Can I use all advantages?

Is it worth the money when staying at 7 anyway?

    thanks in advance.

Wouldn’t do you much good- Compressor 4’s main purpose is to give more control over transcoding as well as enable more background encoding from FCP X. As a standalone program, it’s changed very little from Compressor 3. So if you are staying with FCP 7 there’s not much point in getting Compressor 4 1.0 as of right now.

Thanks man. that was quick and clear!

I’ll stay at 3 for now. Hopefully when FinalCutPro X Pro comes out, I’ll change my mind.

I think the real benefit here is if you want to take an essentially 1200$ add-on for 50$ now and add it to several machines to maybe farm…probably reaching…
