    Compressor 2 freezing when import FCP files

    Hi All
    FCP 5/G5 Tiger /dual 2.0Mhz/4 gigs Ram
    When I attempted to open and import my FCP timeline project into compressor 2, Compressor opened up withOUT loading the FCP project in (as it normally does), then the program AND FCP locks up. Compressor 2 opens independently OK. Tried:
    -various FCP projects
    -repair permissions
    help!! need to burn some DVDs!

    Export a QuickTime Movie, self-contained using current settings. Quit FCP. Open Compressor. Import the QT Movie.

    Thanks Tom- good work-around! BUT – I ‘d still love to be able to directly export to Compressor 2 from FCP 5 so a fix for the problem would be most welcome – anyone?
    Would reinstalling FCP 5 help??
