I’ve got an HD project in Final Cut Pro, that was shot 16×9, but framed for 4×3 delivery. In Compressor 2, I’m looking to downconvert this to an SD format (at this point, the codec isn’t important — DVCPro50, Uncompressed, MPEG-2) where the picture is cropped to 4×3. ‘ve tried a whoel bunch of settings, and can’t get it to work; it keeps coming out anamorphic. What is the correct procedure for this? I can’t find documentation anywhere.

I think this is a bug with Compressor 2. I have had so many errors with the framing options in Compressor 2 that I don’t even worry about enabling any of them. If Compressor 2 is your only option though, you may be able to do a work-around by cropping and encoding to whatever your source codec is without scaling. Then use this file to compress from.
