I was recently referred to Compressor after trying to export from Final Cut Pro.

I’m in compressor now and a little confused.

I have a 1080p 102GB Quicktime file that I’m using as my Master.

I dropped that into compressor and my goal now is to make three H.264 files.

    1080p File Size – 1.5GB
    720p File Size – 500 MB
    480p File Size – 250 MB

How do you decide the output Resolution setting?

Have a basic sense of targets but didn’t see anything that allowed me to change the resolution.

    Thanks,

    Sky

no need to start a new thread for every question, this is just a follow up to what you started.

In Compressor after you drop the settings onto a clip, go to the Geometry tab, Dimension (encoded pixels) is your output settings if you are keeping the resolution of the original clip.

Also don’t be afraid to look this type of stuff up in the manual.
