    Hello all,

I didn’t see an Apple Compressor Forum, so I thought I’d post in here and see what I get back. I’ve been trying to export to Compressor 3.0.5 for a while now in FCP 6.0.6 but once I drop the compression setting on the video, the program freezes.

I even exported in FCP and created a Quicktime Move (not a reference) and tried to drop that file into Compressor, but once again, it freezes once I drop the compression setting on the file. And I mean a complete freeze, I won’t even get to see the video settings in the Inspector window, I just get the Apple spinning wheel. Any suggestions?

    Melvin

Strange, are you going to the menu item export using compressor? I’m not sure I can help, but the correct forum you need is called compression techniques.

    good luck.

Hey Roli, yeah I’m going thru export->send to ->compressor. And as soon as I drop the compression setting down on the file, the program freezes and I get the spinning wheel icon.

And Nick, yeah I downloaded the app you sent me, and still nothing. Unless I’m not doing something right w/ that app. But I downloaded it, installed it, then clicked the repair button. It goes thru the whole repair, and gives me a pop up at the end saying “you may need to allow up to 30 seconds for Qmaster services to start up again.”

I ran the program multiple times, waited 30 seconds and tried the program again, and still nothing.

    Any more suggestions? Thanks

Sorry Melvin, can’t help, but try reposting in the compression techniques forum I’m sure someone can help you there, make sure you post your entire workflow from ingesting your footage to the stage where compressor freezes. Put all your settings and what type of footage and hopefully you’ll get a solution.

    Good luck
