    Hello Experts,

I have a client that wants to create a H.264 HD DVD on a standard 4.7GB DVD disc, I know this has been done many times via the Ken Stone method (outlined at; https://www.kenstone.net/fcp_homepage/hd_dvds_on_sd_dvds_young.html)

The original file I will be compressing for the DVDs is encoded as a DVDProHD 1080×1440 file. I wanted to check the settings I use in Compressor with some seasoned professionals first! I’m planning to start with the H.264 HD DVD 90 Minutes preset (it’s a 70 minute feature) and then tweaking the settings to accommodate this project.

Are there any specific settings that you would recommend altering for this, to get the best possible DVD copy? For example, I’m going to calculate the best possible bitrate – but what is the max. bitrate you can realistically go to with a HD DVD disc without forcing choking on playback?

    Best,
    Adam
