Compression Options
Some of the files that I render are 4 and 5 gigs. Also the video that I recorded from my XL2 is also up to 10 gigs. Is there an encoder or some sort of compression software that can make to files smaller. As long as the quality is not distort and the footage is good.

For really small file sizes, Quicktimes H.264 is still about the best bang for your bytes. After that you have Window Media, and if you are going to the web it’ll be Flash. Compression settings will vary widely for the type of video you are shooting. In most cases you will get a better file size using VBR.

Windows Media Encoder 9 Series… Is this encoder pretty good regarding compression and high quality.
