  • Compression markers no helping with a trouble spot.

I am encoding a scene for a DVD at the default 90-minute settings in Compressor. There is a part of the video where the screen is filled with TV static, before it returns to the actors. The shot immediately following that is full of horrendous artifacting. I have put compression markers in every logical place and in multiple combinations, and yet they do not alleviate this. The only way I was able to fix it was to split the video at that point and encode two different files. This is a hack that, as I understand it, is forcing what compression markers are supposed to do. What could be going wrong?

    Thanks!
