I’m trying to compress several (relatively) small QT videos to FLV in Squeeze, and keep getting the same compression error once the file reaches 99% (it’s a cruel joke). I found that for some of the videos, if I set the out point a couple of frames in, the compression works just fine. On others, nothing seems to help. I have compressed these same QT files to FLV before without issue, but they had slightly different settings. Are there any known bugs out there that is causing this? And more importantly, any known fixes?

The previous settings (without problem) are as follows:
    Audio:
    MP3 Codec
    80 kbps
    without a “normalize audio” filter

    Video:
    On2 VP6 Pro Codec
    1-Pass CBR
    700 kbps
    Key frame every 60 frames

The current settings (with problem) are as follows:
    Audio:
    MP3 Codec
    80 kbps
    with a “normalize audio” filter

    Video:
    On2 VP6 Pro Codec
    2-Pass VBR
    700 kbps
    Key frame every 30 frames

What version Squeeze? 4.5.5 or 4.5.3, etc?

Hmm, Download the trial for 4.5.5 and see if it happens there.

Did this issue just start happening?
You might consider deleting Squeeze and its preferences and reinstalling it.
I did use 4.3.3 and didn’t see that issue (although I did see other issues).

I managed to fix the problem this weekend by setting BOTH in and out points for the clips in the squeeze “timeline” – now they’re compressing fine. weird. must be just another glitch..
