Compression – best settings in Vegas, please?
Hi.
I recently made a short video in Sony Vegas using the Orbiter space simulator
(here’s the link to the vid if you’re interested) —
https://x-plane.net/home/xplain/test-head.zipThe video is under three minutes long with a file size of
14mb. I rendered it as a WMV file using the ‘CBR’ compression settings in Vegas, with a bitrate setting of 750k.Could anyone advise how I might reduce the file size further
(below 10mb is my aim) by using a different and more efficient compression setting in vegas?Thanks.

To reduce the file size, you MUST reduce the bitrate.

What would be a good bitrate setting to maintain
decent quality?Also, I never touch the audio settings when rendering.
Would it be worth trying to compress audio more efficiently?Thanks.

decent quality?”You need to experiment with different frame sizes and different bitrates. Naturally, smaller frame sizes will look better at lower bitrates. Only you can decide your best compromise between quality, file size, and frame size.

of what I was trying to achieve in compressing video files.
