compression automatically applied o imported jpeg/pic files
I scan pics at 720 X480, 150 dpi and notice that when I drop them into the timeline, the aspect ratio (under distortion in the motion tab) changes to -12) It results in the pic not fully filling the viewer and it also distorts the pic. Why is that automatically happening? Now I must manually change each file to 0 distortion.

Difference between your scanner producing square pixels and video being non-square pixels. It’s all quite confusing and takes years to grasp.
