    Hey Creative Cow geniuses,

I was wondering what kind of programs you all use to compress video down to the 4.7 gigs for a DVD. I’ve been working on some projects that are very long videos, and end up having huge uncompressed files (no duh). So my question is, what are the best compressors/burners out there for the top quality. For the purposes of discussion, don’t worry about (but please include) price

    thanks

    Hi Devon,

PC or Mac? And how long is your project? What editor do you currently use – it will typically provide MPEG-2 output.

For the PC, a good stand-alone encoder is Sorenson Squeeze 5, but there are many others as well

I use Adobe Encore CS3 for DVD authoring, it’s included with Premiere Pro

You have the tools you need then, as Encore is included with Premiere Pro CS4. Encode video using 6.0 CBR and 90 minutes should fit just fine
